Sister Day2026

Come away. Slow down. Just be sisters.

1:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Mel's House

I'll Be There

Nine sisters. One family. One day set aside for us.

No schedules to manage. No rushing around. No taking care of everybody else.

For a few hours, we're putting everything aside to relax, laugh, eat, reminisce, get pampered and enjoy being sisters.

Welcome to Sister Day 2026.

This Day Is Ours

Before everything else, we were sisters.

Life gave each of us different journeys. We became wives, mothers, grandmothers, professionals, caregivers and so much more.

But before many of those titles, we were sisters. Sister Day is our time to come back to that.

  • To sit around and talk too long.
  • To laugh about things nobody else would understand.
  • To tell the same old stories and somehow still laugh at them.
  • To eat good food.
  • Turn up the music.
  • Put our feet up.
  • And simply enjoy one another.

Why Sister Day Matters

Something that started with love of family.

Our tradition began after we lost our older brother in 1987. His passing reminded us how precious family really is and how important it is not to allow life, responsibilities and time to slowly pull us away from one another.

Sister Day became our way of being intentional about staying connected. It isn't about creating the perfect event. It's about showing up.

It's about making memories while we still have the opportunity to make them. And every time we gather, we're continuing something that started with love of family.

What's Happening?

A few hours, a few good things.

01

Mani + Pedi Time

We're starting Sister Day with a little pampering. Sit back. Relax. Get those hands and feet taken care of. And yes, the conversations at the nail table are probably going to be interesting.

02

Sip a Little

A light wine tasting gives us an excuse to slow down, try something different and enjoy the moment. Sip. Taste. Rate. Discuss. And somebody will probably declare herself the family wine expert before we're finished.

03

Gather Round the Table

Good food belongs at Sister Day. December calls us back inside — something warm and slow from the oven, something sweet to finish, and a table nobody is in a hurry to leave. Good food. Good music. Good conversation. That's enough.

04

Turn Up the Music

Music has a way of taking you back. We'll listen to some favorites, add songs to our Sister Day Playlist™ and probably hear at least one song that makes somebody get out of her chair. Dancing is optional. Laughing at the dancing is not.

05

Pull a Name, Wrap Some Love

Every November we draw names. Each sister quietly becomes somebody else's Christmas surprise — no hints, no telling, no finding out who has whom. Then on Sister Day we hand our gifts over and the secrets come out. Expect the most hugging of the whole day, and at least one 'I cannot believe you got me this.'

And Then… the Games Begin

Traditions we keep — and a few we're just starting.

The Sister Awards™

Everybody gets an award. Some will be sweet. Some will be ridiculous. Some may expose things we've known about each other for decades. Nobody leaves without one.

How Well Do You Know Your Sisters?™

Nine sisters. A lifetime of history. Surely we know everything about each other by now. Or do we? We're about to find out.

Sip & Remember™

Pick a card. Answer the question. Tell the story. Some questions will make us laugh. Some might take us way back. And some may help us learn something about one another that we've never known before.

The Sister Day Playlist™

Every sister brings one song. But you can't just give us the title — you have to tell us why you chose it. Every Sister Day, we'll add nine more songs. Over time, we're creating the soundtrack of our family.

The Sister Time Capsule™

Before the day ends, each of us will write something for our future selves and our sisters. We'll seal the letters. And when Sister Day comes around again, we open them together. Then we write the next chapter.

The Wildcard™

Some things about Sister Day should stay familiar. One thing should never be predictable. Every gathering includes one surprise activity chosen by one sister. She doesn't tell anybody what she's planning — we just have to show up and participate. When Sister Day ends, the Wildcard passes to another sister. Nine sisters. Nine turns. Plenty of possibilities.

The Only Real Rule

Be Present.

  • Take the pictures.
  • Tell the stories.
  • Play the games.
  • Taste the wine.
  • Eat the food.
  • Sing the song.
  • Laugh until somebody starts crying.

And don't spend the whole day worrying about what you need to do tomorrow. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

This day belongs to us.

Sister Day 2026

Saturday, December 19

1:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Mel's House

Pampering · Wine Tasting · A Warm Dinner · Music · Games · Gifts · Memories

Before We Say Goodnight…

We actually do this — not just say we should.

  • We'll take our official Sister Day picture.
  • We'll seal our time capsule.
  • We'll pass the Wildcard.
  • And we'll decide when we're doing this again.

Because we're not ending the day saying: “We really need to get together more often.” We're actually going to do it.

Nine sisters. One family. A lifetime of stories.

Our lives will continue to change. Our families will grow. We'll get older. We'll experience wonderful seasons and difficult ones.

But there is something we can choose to protect through all of it: us.

Family relationships don't remain strong simply because we're related. We keep them strong because we continue choosing one another.

So come away for a few hours. Slow down. Laugh. Remember. Make another story we'll tell someday.

Just Be Sisters.

I'll Be There

Let Mel know you're coming.

Are you coming?
